Covid-19 Activities carried out by the District Red Cross Branch during pandemic
  1. During the Covid 19, District Red Cross Branch Mohali has installed two Medical Oxygen Supply Systems at Civil Hospital, Phase 6, Mohali. This saved lives by giving oxygen to patients suffering from the epidemic of Covid-19. These oxygen plants generate 90 liters of oxygen per minute. With this in future also the patients admitted in Civil Hospital, Mohali would not be deprived of oxygen.
  2. The risk of corona virus was very high in the whole country and many patients are dying due to lack of oxygen and corona epidemic. For this an Oxygen Concentrator Bank has been opened by District Red Cross Branch, SAS Nagar . Under which Oxygen Concentrator is provided to the patient for 15 days without any charge after prescription and recommendation by the doctor. Rs.5000/- per security is taken which is returned to the patient after deposit of Oxygen Concentrator.
  3. The District Red Cross Branch in collaboration with M/s Saraswati Group of Companies, provided 20 Oxygen Beds at Civil Hospital, Kharar which provides immediate relief to the critically ill patients by providing oxygen.
  4. Following the third wave of Corona-19 (Corona virus), the District Red Cross Branch distributed masks, soap, sanitizers, gloves, medicines, clothes and other paraphernalia to people walking without masks at various places. The people were made aware from time to time by organizing awareness camps. Sweepers of District Mohali were specially encouraged to wear masks & use of sanitizers, gloves, soaps and get them vaccinated against the disease. It has received a very good response.
  5. About Rs 9.30 lakh was provided by the District Red Cross Branch to Sub Divisional Magistrate, Mohali for providing remuneration to the medical staff involved for achieving target of 100% vaccination. The general public of the district was made aware of the second/booster dose by putting up a banner.
